When I became a Military Interrogator, I thought, "How would this ever help me as a civilian?" It turns out to be the best decision I ever made...

The Art of Interrogation has helped me learn how to "read minds" and now I train executives and professionals to use this skill to rocket their business.

Hi, Tracy Reed here. I'm normally classified as a Process Coach. Give me a process, mental or physical and I will quickly cut through all of the B.S, get to the core, find out what really makes it work, and coach those involved how to master it. This has always been instinct for me, but I recently broke down the process behind this instinct and now I coach my clients to develop the same instinct.
When I was a kid, nobody was better at tuning a bicycle to operate like a fine Swiss watch. Later, it was cars, then electronics and hydraulics. What made me the best? My ability to quickly diagnose a problem and solve it; I usually get to the core of a problem before most technicians start looking for the signs.

But my biggest interest was always the mind. I liked reading people and trying to figure out what makes them tick. It's the reason I became an Interrogator in the Army. A good Interrogator can almost read your mind. It's not hypnotism and it's not a gift. There is a method behind it that works like magic.

I'm not talking about torture either. Contrary to common belief, military Interrogators don't torture anyone... Well, U.S. Military Interrogators, anyway. Interrogation involves the mastery of communication combined with effective problem solving skills. But the interrogation school routinely loses 1/3 of every class because many just can't get it. There is a part of Interrogation that isn't taught anywhere else that is connected to the very instinct that makes the greatest leaders great.

When I decided I had enough of military service, I had no idea of how powerful my improved leadership and communication skills were until I started working in my first job.

So as not to bore you with details, as an operations manager, using the "people" skills I learned as an Interrogator, I took a small company that had averaged about $800,000 per year for the previous three years to $1.5M in just one year.

After a year with that company, I was offered my dream job, so I left the company. I kept in touch with the general manager, who was a friend to see how things continued. He told me that not too long after I left, the owner finally hired 3 people to take my place... Not one at a time, but all three at the same time. Still the company's sales the following year were back down to around $800,000.

Later my friend invited me to dinner and he only had one question burning in his mind; "How did I do it?" He wanted to know how I accomplished more than three people could and how I made it look easy.

I was a little embarrassed at first because I didn't think I had done anything special. He said that the coordination and timing of the business had fallen apart and they didn't know why. That got me to thinking...

I didn't realize it, but I was one of "those guys"; the calm, cool, collected, who can take charge of any situation, but until that conversation, I never thought that I did anything out of the ordinary. I just did what was needed in any given situation.

Since that fateful evening, I've heard that question, "How do you do it?" more often than I ever expected. I'd gotten used to my bosses taking me aside and asking for advice in different situations.

Don't get me wrong; I'm no Superman. I just have two skills that aren't taught in school or college that allow me to get things done and solve problems quickly under high stress situations.

So you might be wondering why I'm not running GE or some other big corporation...

Remember that dream job I took? It was teaching golf. It's something I wanted to do because I had been studying and trying to find the "secrets" of the golf swing for years. Just like every other process, golf swing instruction across the board is missing information to help golfers grasp how to make such a complicated move simple and consistent.

Because breaking down processes is what I do, I doggedly pursued the process of the golf swing and figured it out. It was a project that took almost 20 years to successfully crack, but I did, and since have taught those secrets to thousands of golfers across the world. If you go to www.GolfSwingControl.com you'll see my work and many of the breakthroughs golfers have made because of the information I have uncovered. But the rest of the story is what my mental training for golf does for the non-golf part of their lives...

Once I looked back on my journey through my golf project, I realized that I had also found something much more important; the secret of success and inner happiness. During my golf project, I came to a crossroads in my life and had to decide which way to go. There were many paths I could take and instead of just picking one, I decided to create a process for finding the best one. I broke down for the first time a process anyone can follow to find their inner true self. That process is available in my book, "The Happiness Equation."

In a process of self discovery to find my life's purpose, I found out that although I am a leader, I have no interest in dealing with the politics of corporate life. Although I am extremely adept at solving problems, I'm unhappy unless I'm teaching others how to solve problems for themselves.

The process I've been working on for a number of years is figuring out what great leaders have that makes them great. I'm talking about that instinctive real leadership where people naturally look up to you no matter what your place in life. You may have read "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, which is a book on the same subject. I read that book years ago, and have reread it many times since, but I've always felt as if there was something missing. My search was to find the missing piece of the puzzle and I have finally found it.
